The subsidiary of Vishal Group (VG) formally started marketing and distribution of Suzuki motorcycles in the Nepali market from Monday.
This is the first time that Vishal Group, which is in business since 1950s, has ventured into trading of two-wheelers. Its subsidiary Pooja International is the authorized importer of Volkswagen vehicles in Nepal. The group´s business portfolio ranges from manufacturing to banking, insurance, international trade and automobile sector, among others.[break]
VG Automobiles formally started distribution of Suzuki two-wheelers in Nepal by opening new showrooms at Tripureshwar and Kumaripati on Monday. Jadish Agrawal, chairman of Vishal Group, and popular actress Nisha Adhikari jointly inaugurated the showrooms.
The company has already appointed 25 dealers across the country.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Adhir Kumar Shrestha, assistant general manager of VG Automobiles, said the company will gradually increase market share of Suzuki two-wheelers in the Nepali market. “We will re-establish the brand in Nepal and fulfill the demand for our customers,” he added. He also said the company aims to increase the share of Suzuki bikes in Nepali market to 10 percent within mid-2014 from existing 2 percent. “To achieve this, we will put in place effective market strategies,” he added.
VG Automobiles is currently selling five models of Suzuki two-wheelers -- Suzuki Hayate, Suzuki GS 150R, Suzuki Access 125, Suzuki Swish 125 and Suzuki SlingShot.
“We are committed to provide best in-class buying experience as well as after sales service to our valued customers,” Shrestha said.
He also said the company will continue to introduce new models to meet the needs of riders from all segments - youngsters to women and family to office-goers.
“Suzuki is the fastest growing brand in two-wheelers market. We are confident that the brand will do well in Nepal,” he added.
