Addressing a national publicity gathering organized by the Party Publicity and Publication Department for the CA election at the party central office, Balkhu on Friday, they argued a new constitution could not be promulgated by the erstwhile CA due to dominance of the party carrying ultra-leftist ideologies.[break]
Party Chairman Jhalanath Khanal acknowledged that his party failed to implement the achievements of first constitution-drafting despite its utmost efforts. He, however, added that country would get a new constitution if the UML becomes the largest party.
CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal expressed his hope that media would play a supportive role to take the party to a height through a new constitution.
Likewise, party leader KP Sharma Oli called for establishing socialism in the country along with rule of law through peaceful politics and durable development.
Party Publicity Department chief Pradeep Kumar Gyawali presented a working paper on party publicity strategy and activities for the upcoming CA election.
Party general secretary Ishwor Pokhrel is scheduled to address a concluding session of the program this evening.
