KATHMANDU, March 5: Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal has said the recruitment in the Maoist People’s Liberation Army goes against the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, according to Kantipur daily.
“This will disrupt the peace process,” Khanal said on March 4.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has alleged that the Nepali Congress made a big issue out of troops recruitment by instigating the Nepalese Army. He said the Nepali Congress encouraged the army by allowing the latter to open recruitment in violation of the rules. “Nepali Congress itself encouraged the army and is accusing the Maoists of violating the agreement [Comprehensive Peace Agreement],” Thapa said.
