SARLAHI, Nov 6: Agitating cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Friday torched a motorbike with Indian registration number at Nepal-India border of Malangwa in Sarlahi district. The bike rider sustained injuries in the incident.

The bike rider, Birendra Ram, 24, of Malangwa-5, sustained burn injuries in the incident when UDMF cadres staging sit-in at the border set ablaze the motorbike with registration number BR 30 C 8434.Ram sustained burn injuries to his hands and legs, according to doctors involved in his treatment at Sarlahi District Hospital.

Madhesi protestors torched the bike charging the rider of transporting petroleum products from across the border.

When local agitators tried to pour petrol out of the rider's bike, he started using abusive words. Subsequently, they torched the bike.

Ram got injured after he tried to stop the protestors from torching the bike, local cadres claimed.
