TANAHUN, Nov 1: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said his party’s majority in the next Constituent Assembly (CA) is must for the national integrity and political stability, economic development and federalism with identity in the country.

Addressing a mass meeting organized by the party in course of an election campaign at Damauli, on Friday, leader Dahal said it was unfortunate that the first CA failed to promulgate the new constitution.[break]

He said that the country is heading for second CA elections but anti-democratic and pro-monarchy forces who do not want positive changes in the country are reluctant to go for federalism.

"Now we should be confident of the drafting of a new constitution after the November 19 election," he added.

Although, the CPN-Maoist announced the Damauli banda today to obstruct the arrival of Dahal, the town witnessed least impact of banda.
