After the serious consultations today, the top leaders of four major political parties decided to sit at 9 am tomorrow and finalise all the thorniest issues of the new constitution.Briefly talking to media persons after the meeting, Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala said serious discussions are going on in the draft of the constitution to accommodate the aspirations of all sides.
"The top leaders have reached near consensus in issues of the new constitution including the demarcation of the federal states. Some remaining issues would be sorted out after the meeting tomorrow," Chairman of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik) Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar said.
All issues including the provision of citizenship and religion would be finalised, he added.
Likewise, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Oli said that result would yield in tomorrow's meeting, as some issues are not yet resolved.
Similarly, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the parties lacked time to sort out some issues. He expressed confidence that conclusion would be made on Thursday.
Coordinator of the special committee under the Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee of the Constituent Assembly (CA), Dr Baburam Bhattarai, also said that things have moved ahead in a positive manner.
