BIRATNAGAR, June 19: The Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP), Morang, has sacked its Morang district vice-president and a member from the party stating that the duo worked against party policy.

Those sacked are Hari Narayan Gupta, TMDP’s candidate for the by-polls of the Constituent Assembly from Morang Constituency No 7 and district member Dr Abhar Thakur.

At a press conference organized here on Friday, Morang district chairman of TMDP Mohammad Kadir said both of them were ousted from the party membership for six months for manhandling party activists and conducting activities against the party policy.

He said that the party would punish any of its cadres and leaders who indulge in vested interest trampling the TMDP’s working direction.
