Two sacks of explosives recovered in Gorkha

GORKHA, Jan 2: Police have recovered two sacks of explosives kept underneath a stone from Thala jungle at Swara-9, Gorkha on Sunday.

GORKHA, Jan 2: Police have recovered two sacks of explosives kept underneath a stone from Thala jungle at Swara-9, Gorkha on Sunday.


“The sacks were packed with detonators and wires”, said DSP Birendra Thapa of District Police Office, Gorkha.

One of the shepherd from the district had informed the police after he finding the sacks buried under the stones.


The police recovered the explosives in an outdated condition and took control over it. The explosives are assumed to have been hidden by the Maoists during the armed conflict.


Police have begun search operations in the locality. Thapa told Republica Online that same sort of explosives materials were recovered from the area some two years ago.
