The task force, which is led by Chief Secretary Lila Mani Poudyal, comprises of Professor Y.P. Singh and Dr Anjani Kumar Jha, chairman of Nepal Medical Association (NMA).
A cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Friday has also endorsed the 11-point agreement signed on Thursday between the government and Dr KC. The cabinet meeting also decided to direct the authorities concerned to take necessary steps for implementing the agreements, informed Minendra Rijal, Minister of Information and Communication.Minister Rijal informed that the cabinet has formed a probe team under the leadership of former appellate court chief judge Hari Babu Bhattarai to investigate office bearers of the Tribhuvan University, the Kathmandu University, and Nepal Medical Council for their alleged role in providing affiliations to undeserving medical colleges, issuing letter of intent (LoI) and giving permission to extend the programs, among other illegal steps.
The probe committee comprises of joint-secretaries of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and Population.
