The third place honor went to Dipesh Dhami of APF and Bivek Shrestha of Nepal Police Club (NPC). Both of them received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each.
Bimal Shrestha and Ram Rai´s pair from Lalitpur lifted the men´s doubles title. The duo had a hard fought 21-19, 18-21, 21-19 third set victory over Pankaj Shrestha and Mahata´s pair of APF.
Madhav Thapa and Mahesh Shrestha´s pair of APF and Ramesh Kumar Shrestha and Sailendra Ghale´s pair of NPC secured third place in the same category. The top three teams bagged a purse of Rs 40,000, Rs 24,000 and Rs 8,000 each respectively.
In veterans´ doubles, the pair of Pushpa Tamrakar of APF and Suresh Shrestha of Kathmandu secured top spot defeating Tapendra Hamal and Ram Krishna Maharjan´s pair of NPC 21-8, 24-22. Ramesh Kumar Shrestha and Sailendra Ghale´s pair of NPC and Mahesh Shrestha and Madhav Thapa´s pair of APF jointly secured third position.
The winning pairs received a cash prize of Rs 30,000, Rs 18,000 and Rs 8,000 respectively.
Home Minister Bhim Rawal awarded the winners of the tournament, which was organized on the occasion of the 55th Police Day. Altogether 247 players including 210 male and 37 female players participated in the five-day-long event.
