KATHMANDU, July 14: Actor and model Saruk Tamrakar's untimely demise continues to reverberate through the entertainment industry, with nine days having passed since his tragic death on July 6. The lifeless body of Tamrakar was found at his residence in Ratopul, casting a pall of grief over his loved ones and fans alike.
Tamrakar, who had recently concluded a morning shoot for the film 'Hashtag Maya,' was found hanging in the evening, leading to a profound shockwave throughout the film fraternity. The incident has sparked a crucial conversation about mental health within the filmmaking community, prompting actress Keki Adhikari to advocate for the establishment of a dedicated department focused on mental health counseling.

Addressing the challenges faced by individuals in the public eye, Adhikari highlighted the necessity for a specialized department that would provide essential mental health support to cast and crew members during film production. She emphasized the need to prioritize this aspect while planning budgets and signing film contracts, recognizing the unimaginable pressures accompanying a prominent public presence.
Various artists have joined the chorus, demanding a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Saruk Tamrakar's tragic suicide. Director Suresh Darpan Pokharel stressed the importance of uncovering the factors that led Tamrakar to make such a drastic decision, despite being actively involved in filming mere hours before his death.
"We must delve into the reasons behind Tamrakar's suicide," asserted Pokharel. "How can someone who was engaged in a film shoot only a short while ago be driven to such a harsh decision within a matter of hours?"
Former Miss Nepal Malina Joshi echoed the call for a thorough investigation into Saruk's suicide and emphasized the need to hold those responsible accountable. Urging authorities to pursue a fair and comprehensive inquiry, Joshi stated that everyone deserves to know the truth about the events that transpired.
Actress Srishti Shrestha took to Instagram to express her solidarity, sharing a photo of Tamrakar accompanied by the caption, "Truth and justice shall prevail."The 31-year-old Tamrakar had previously made notable appearances in movies such as 'Rani,' 'Meri Mamu,' and 'Intu Mintu London.' He was the son of the esteemed artist Sanu Kumar Tamrakar.
