The program featured musical and dance performances by Sushila Arts Academy and Sur-Sudha. President, Dr Ram Baran Yadav, and his family were present in the occasion along with Jayant Prasad, Indian Ambassador to Nepal.[break]
A total of six performances were presented to the audience, which included Dr Geeti Sen, Director of Indian Cultural Centre.
The program started with a performance by Sushila Arts Academy where a musical salute to the national anthem was made. Yulia Koirala, Principal of Sushila Arts Academy, said, “Children can develop their personalities in a holistic way through music.”

A Flamenco performance by Maradee De Juzman, a Flamenco dance instructor at Sushila Arts Academy, was also appreciated by the audience.
However, the stars of the cultural program were Sur-Sudha. The two performances they gave were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience with frequent applauses breaking out in-between.
Historian Satya Mohan Joshi said, “These performances are not only sweet but very satisfying to one’s heart. Music, like mathematics and drama, has a universal language. Such performances are a nation’s pride.”
Likewise, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, said, “Music and art have no boundaries. Art should be respected by everyone.”
