Support to late journalist Ghimire’s family

KATHMANDU, July 20: Nepal America Journalists' Association (NEAJA) provided Rs 275,000 to the family of Republica's Desk Editor late Sanjeev Ghimire.

The amount was provided to Ghimire's wife Anita Ghimire at a program at the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) on Monday. Sanjeev passed away at the age of 38 on October 18 following cardiac arrest.

Former advisor and member of NEAJA Pratap Adhikari handed over the money collected through Nepali journalists working in the North America to FNJ President Dr Mahendra Bista, who later handed over the amount to Sanjeev's wife Anita.

The amount was collected on special initiation of NEAJA President Gautam Dahal and member Mukesh Chandra Baral at the request of FNJ, Republica Chapter.

Addressing the program, FNJ President Dr Bista while thanking NEAJA for its support expressed committment that FNJ would extend all possible support to the education of late Sanjeev's sons.

Speaking on the behalf of Ghimire's family Gopal Tiwari thanked NEAJA, FNJ Republica Chapter and FNJ for taking initiative to help the family in distress. President of FNJ Republica Chapter Kosh Raj Koirala expressed happiness for being able support Ghimire's family by collecting amount at the initiation of the chapter.
