BIRATNAGAR, April 12: Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala has said that promulgating the new constitution on May 28 is not possible if the political parties were not serious to peace and constitution writing process.

Talking to media persons at Biratnagar airport on Tuesday, she said the political parties should have determination to promulgate the constitution in the slated timeframe instead of discussing on Constituent Assembly (CA) term extension. [break]

Extending the CA tenure is to cheat the people as the parties did nothing worth noting than extending the CA term in the past, said Koirala.

She said constitution should be promulgated only after the peace process was completed and urged all to work actively to conclude the peace process and promulgate constitution.

Responding to a query of journalists regarding the party organization, she said conspiracies have been hatched to emasculate the Nepali Congress and warned that the country could fall into a crisis if such conspiracies were continued.

She said it is responsibility of the party president to lead the party by taking all into confidence.
