The ticket for the show is priced at Rs 500. The documentaries will also be screened in other parts of the country later. Beyond the Boundary is a tale of the comeback of Nepal’s national cricketers Sarad Vesawkar and Rahul BK who had played a crucial role in Nepal’s victory in the ICC World Cricket League Division-5. Similarly, New Horizon is about Nepali women cricketers. The screening will also be followed by performances from Guinness record holders Thaneshwar Guragain, Nikesh Thapaliya and Gautam Sapkota (Chari Dada).
NOC concerned over NSC move
KATHMANDU: Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) headed by Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan has expressed serious concerns over National Sports Council’s (NSC) move to dissolve Nepal Amateur Athletics Association (NAAA). NSC General Secretary Yubaraj Lama on Friday had said that the NSC had initiated the process for dissolving NAAA following the disappearance of athlete Suryamaya Rai in Japan. Rai had gone there to participate in the 19th Asian Athletics Championship earlier this month. Lama had alleged the involvement of NAAA’s in Rai’s disappearance. NOC in a press release issued on Tuesday said any problem in sports bodies must be resolved in accordance with national and international norms.
Kaski, Rupandehi in final
KATHMANDU: Kaski has set up a title clash with Rupandehi in the Inter District Development Committee (DDC) Cup U-15 Football Tournament. Kaski defeated Morang 4-3 in tie-breaker in the second semifinal of the tournament on Tuesday. The regulation and additional time had ended in a goalless draw. The final will be played on Wednesday.
Cricket umpires off to B’desh
KATHMANDU: A 12-member Nepali team comprising cricket umpires and scorers left for Bangladesh on Tuesday upon the invitation of the Bangladesh Umpires and Scorers Association. The Nepali umpires will participate in the Umpires’ Cricket Carnival being organized in Cox Bazar of Bangladesh from July 21-27. They will play a six-a-side cricket match against the host team on the first day of the carnival and participate in the umpiring workshop in the remaining days. Binay Raj Pandey, president of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), and member secretary of National Sports Council Yuvaraj Lama bade farewell to the team on Tuesday.
