KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Nepal No 1 pro Shiva Ram Shrestha faltered horribly and produced a card of five-over 77 on the last day to finish the BTI International Golf Championship that concluded Thursday at the Kurmitola Golf Course in Dhaka, Bangladesh in the 12th place.
Shrestha, who started the championship with a card of three-under 69 and shot identical one-under 71 on the second and third day, played a horrible final round to finish with a total of even-par 288. Shrestha carded two-over 38 on the front nine as he suffered bogeys on the first and fourth holes. He shot double bogey at the 13th hole and bogeys at the 10th, 17th and 18th holes against birdies at the 11th and 14th holes to finish the back nine at three-over 39.[break]
Local pro Jamal Hossain Mollah won the championship with a total of 12-under 276 while Indian pro Shamim Khan finished as runner-up with a total of 11-under 277.
Other two Nepali pro Sanjay Lama and Krishna Man Rajbahak missed the cut for the last two rounds of the championship.
