The five-year Siraha District Disaster Risk Management Plan-2014 prepared with the financial support of the European Union and Save the Children has included Itatar, Inarwa, Aurahi, Krishnapur, Kirauna, Janakinagar, Jijhaul, Tenuwapatti, Nahara Rigaul, Bariyapatti, Bhagawanpur, Bhediya, Lagadigadiyani, Lagadigoth, Sukhipur, Harkatti in the list of VDCs at high risk of fire while Anarma Prara, Kalyanpur Jabdi, and Arna Prapi are listed under medium risk VDCs.According to the Plan, the VDCs have high risk of fire in February-August. The district has a target of establishing Information System, rescue and relief to the disaster victims, reinstatement after disaster, control the disaster risks, among others for settling the disaster in the permanent manner, said Local Development Officer Gopal Kumar Adhikari.
The Nepal Red Cross Society, Siraha, has a capacity of providing immediate relief to 500 disaster affected people and relief to around 1,000 families through the social organization including the Save the Children, said NRCS Siraha Programme Coordinator Ashok Yadav. RSS
