Protest against HSEB appointment

BHAKTAPUR, Oct 26: Work in Higher School Education Board (HSEB) has been affected following an indefinite padlocking of the offices of HSEB Vice-chairman and Member Secretary.



The Cabinet meeting on Sept. 28 appointed Dr. Hem Kumar Mishra and Bhim Lal Gurung as Vice-chairman and Secretary Member for four years.[break]



Following the appointment, Nepal National Government Employee Association, students´ union and teachers´ union have been padlocking their offices since Oct. 2, saying that the caretaker government’s decision in invalid.



Mishra and Gurung have been unable to enter their office chambers due to the strike since October 4.



Minister for Education Sarbendra Nath Shukla had told the agitators to give up their strike. But the unions have not relented.
