“There is no alternative to concluding the twin tasks of peace process and constitution drafting; I urge the prime minister, the Constituent Assembly chairman and leaders of all political parties to utilize this opportunity and let us change the face of the country,” said the president inaugurating ´Dhangadhi Mahotsav´ in Dhangadhi, Kailali on Thursday morning.
He opined that people have been wishing for economic transformation with social justice in the country.
Yadav said the democratic republic cannot be institutionalized without rapid and simultaneous development in the fields of health, education and energy.
The president stressed the need for developing the Far Western region saying the region is rich in natural resources.
Prez opens int´l surgeons meet
KATHMANDU: President of Dr Ram Baran Yadav inaugurated the Seventh International Conference of Surgeons (ICS) at Norvic International Hospital Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion President Yadav stressed the need for the Nepali surgeons and medical fraternity to reach out to the downtrodden and marginalized people in remote corners of the country as well, according to a press statement issued by the hospital.
He also felicitated Dr Naresh Trehan, the chairman and managing director of Medanta the Medicity, for his contribution in the field of cardio-thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. Some 150 Nepali surgeons participated in the conference.
