Three cadres of the front including Umesh Sahani, Parsa district secretary of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Nepal were arrested, according to Parsa District Police Chief, Superintendent of Police (SP) Pitamber Adhikari.[break]
Meanwhile, cadres of the MJF-Nepal have been staging demonstrations in various parts of Birgunj Sub-Metropolis against the arrest of the cadres.
Similarly, the banda enforcers and the police engaged in clashes at Ghantaghar, Birgunj. Police said a junior police officer of the Armed Police Force was also injured in the clash.
Chairman of Parsa district MJF-Nepal, Pradeep Yadav alleged the police personnel of using extra force against the banda enforcers.
Normal life in Parsa has been affected badly owing to the indefinite strike in Madhes called by the Front demanding ´One Madhes, One Province´ in the new constitution.
