Players' welfare fund set up

PARASI, Nov 21: A players’ welfare fund has been set up in Nawalparasi for helping out the needy players. This is perhaps the first such welfare fund to be established in the country.



The District Sports Development Committee set up the fund with the money collected from the distribution of the registration forms to players participating in the selection competition for the Sixth National Games.[break]



A revolving fund has been set up with the registration fees collected from a total 750 players who participated in the selection competition under 20 different games.



Guidelines have been developed for mobilizing the fund according to which a maximum of Rs. 25,000 would be provided to a player for medical treatment or for other purposes.
