This was revealed after an analysis of the suggestions collected by CA teams on future constitution. While 9,068 persons suggested that the lawmakers should be educated up to SLC, 6,860 said bachelor´s degree should be the minimum educational qualification to be a lawmaker. While 7,285 persons said anybody who can read and write should be allowed to become a lawmaker, 6,720 said no educational qualification should be set as a criterion for aspiring lawmakers.
Most of the organizations and people who forwarded their suggestions, however, suggested that the future President, prime minister, finance minister and education minister should possess at least a bachelor´s degree.
Likewise, most of the people want the constitution to set the date for the five-year periodic general election, set minimum age of voters 16, and make Nepali as the medium of contact across the country even as federal states would decide on official language of the particular state.
A total of 42,000 questionnaires were returned and the CA panel on fixing future form of governance has already processed 37,000 forms, it is learnt.
