Devotees coming from various places of the country have been thronging the Pashupati area from early morning.
As per the Hindu mythology, one’s ancestors will have a place in heaven if such seeds are sown in the Pashupati area in the name of the deceased, and family happiness is ensured, said culture expert Dr. Bishnu Prasad Dahal.
Seeds of rice, barley, wheat, sesame, gram, maize, and kaguno are sown and lights lit in the name of the deceased in the previous night to mark the festival.
