KATHMANDU, March 18: The country is currently being affected by westerly and local winds. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) reports that the Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces are partially cloudy, while the rest of the country experiences clear weather.
The DHM forecasts mostly clear weather across the country today, with partial cloud cover expected in the afternoon. Light rainfall with thunder and lightning may occur at one or two places in the hilly areas of Gandaki Province, while light snowfall is likely in one or two places in the higher hills and mountainous regions. Gusty winds may also affect some areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces.
Tonight, the DHM predicts partial cloud cover in the hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, with the rest of the country experiencing mostly clear weather with some cloud cover. Over the next 24 hours, light rainfall with thunder and lightning is expected in one or two places in the hilly areas of Gandaki Province, and light snowfall is likely in one or two places in the higher hills and mountainous regions.
The DHM has urged the public to exercise caution, as strong winds may impact daily life, health, road traffic, and air travel, particularly in Koshi and Madhesh provinces during the afternoon.
