KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Rishikesh Pokharel’s wife Anjala Koirala, who is accused of involvement in embezzling funds from a cooperative, has appeared in court.
Koirala attended the Biratnagar High Court on Wednesday to give a statement. The hearing regarding her detention is expected to begin shortly after her appearance in court.
The High Court had issued an arrest warrant against Koirala and 25 others in connection with the embezzlement of funds from the Uma-Gauri Agricultural Cooperative in Dhanpalthan-4, Morang. Koirala had been absconding since the court issued the arrest warrant on December 17.
