Caretaker member secretary Bishnu Lamsal and NSC employees greeted Chaudhary, who arrived 45 minutes late than scheduled time, with garlands and bouquet.
Chaudhary urged all officials and stakeholders to forget political alliances and work towards development of the sports.
“I believe in teamwork and expect this from everybody involved this in sports sector," he said. “Sports can be very important in strengthening diplomatic relations between two countries. I will look serve sports organizations as my mother."
Chaudhary said his priority is to implement the Ministry´s vision to develop sports.
Chaudhary took over from Lamsal, a joint secretary at the ministry, who was appointed as the caretaker with limited authority after Jeevan Ram Shrestha, a political appointee of Communist Party of Nepal United Marxist- Leninist (CPN-UML) resigned on July 23.
Chaudhary has experiences of managerial positions and had served as the chief of National Investigation Department (NID).
He was also a member the controversial Royal Committee formed by the then King Gyanendra to investigate main political parties and their leaders for corruption.
However, the Special Court acquitted* Chaudhary from any wrongdoings during his tenure in the committee on July 9.
