NHRC concerned over violent incidents

KATHMANDU, July 20: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged all to respect each others right to express their views on the draft constitution.

Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, the NHRC has expressed concerns over violent incidents in Dhanusha, Parsa, Rautahat, Siraha, Saptari, Taplejung, Kathmandu, Nuwakot, Makawanpur and Bhaktapur.

The NHRC has said that the incidents have violated people's right to present their suggestions on the draft constitution. Meanwhile, the commission has also said that the government and security forces have violated human rights by using excessive force instead of maintaing restraint.
