BERLIN, Jan 18: The Nepali Embassy in Berlin has raised concerns about rising cases of Nepali citizens being defrauded by false employment opportunities in various European countries.
In a notice issued on Friday, the embassy urged Nepalis to be vigilant, citing reports that Nepalis working in countries like Romania, Croatia, and Malta are being illegally trafficked to Poland and Bulgaria with promises of attractive job offers. The embassy also highlighted the role of social media platforms, including TikTok and Facebook, in spreading misleading information.
Likewise, the embassy advised Nepalis with valid work permits to only work in the country where their permits are authorized and avoid falling for such deceptive schemes. It further warned against participating in illegal activities and encouraged victims to report any incidents with supporting evidence.
