Nepal promotes tourism at Los Angeles Travel Expo

KATHMANDU, Feb 24: Nepal promoted its tourism at the United States Tourism Expo in Los Angeles. The "Adventure Travel Show," held on February 22 and 23, featured four companies participating under the leadership of the Nepal Tourism Board.

The participating companies included Nepal Trek Adventure & Expedition Pvt Ltd., Ojha Holiday Tour & Treks Pvt Ltd., Friends Adventure Team Pvt Ltd., and Nepal Century Treks Pvt Ltd. This marked Nepal's return to the tourism expo after 15 years.

The event showcased Nepal's stunning landscapes, rich culture, and thrilling adventure tourism. Binod Sapkota, operator of Trek Adventure & Expedition Pvt. Ltd. and former general secretary of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), shared information about Nepal's tourism offerings.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 10 percent of tourists visiting Nepal in 2024, or 112,000 visitors, will come from the United States, which ranks second for tourist arrivals in Nepal after India.

The event also saw the participation of Nepal Tourism Board board member Rajendra Lama, director Hikmat Singh Aiyer, tourism entrepreneurs Ramesh Ojha, Nabin Pokharel, Kundan Mishra, and California's honorary consulate to Nepal, Rishi Prasad Dhakal.

Over the two-day event, around 100 stalls were set up, representing countries including Brazil, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, and Nepal.
