Nepal won the toss and invited Bahrain to bat first at Al Dhaid Cricket Ground, Sharjah. Nepal´s decision proved to be right and as they took three wickets within the first four overs. However, Nepal´s spinners could not continue the momentum and Bahrain put up a good total of 157 runs losing 8 wickets.
Mehboob Alam struck twice and Binod Das took an early wicket to put Bahrain in trouble. But, spinner Shakti Gauchan was not economical as he gave away 22 runs in a single over.
Captain Paras Khadka and Sanjam Regmi picked one wicket each in the middle overs of the match. To surprise all, this was only the second wicket for Paras in the tournament. Basanta Regmi and Dipendra Chaudhary could not contain Bahrain´s batsmen. Binod Das took two more wickets in the last over of the match. Haroon Naseer was the highest run scorer for Bahrain. He scored 53 of 36 balls.
In reply, Nepal met the target in the 18th over, losing three wickets. Nepal were struggling at 65-3 at the completion of the 11th over. Captain Paras Khadka and his deputy Gyanendra Malla contributed a 93-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Paras scored 47 while Gyanendra struck 48 runs for the victory. Paras was awarded with the man of the match trophy.
Nepali opener Mehboob Alam failed to open his account. Binod Bhandari scored 11 runs while Dipendra Chaudhary contributed 47 runs.
