KATHMANDU, May 15: Nepal secured a 6-wicket victory over Bahrain via the DLS method in the match of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier.
With this victory, Nepal climbed to the top of the table with 5 points. In Bangkok the game was affected by rain. Bahrain won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 76 runs for the loss of 3 wickets before the match was halted due to rain.
After the rain stopped, Nepal was given a target of 56 runs in 7 overs using the DLS method. Nepal successfully chased down the target in 5.4 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process.

In Nepal's victory, Captain Indu Barma played a crucial role with her excellent batting performance. She scored an unbeaten 24 runs off just 7 balls, which was key to Nepal's success. She hit 4 fours and 1 six. Nepal came closer to victory after she struck three consecutive fours in the fifth over.
Earlier, opener Samjhana Khadka was run out for 5 runs, while Rubi Poddar could only manage 1 run. Kabita Joshi was dismissed for a duck, and Puja Mahato contributed 13 runs, hitting 2 fours off 11 balls.
With the win, Nepal accumulated 5 points from four matches, securing the top position in the group. Earlier, Nepal had a 9-wicket victory over Bahrain after the first game against Hong Kong was abandoned. However, Nepal was defeated in the second match against Hong Kong.
After tomorrow's match between Hong Kong, with 4 points, and Bahrain, with 1 point, the team that will advance to the Super 3 will be decided. For Nepal to reach the Super 3, Hong Kong must lose. If the match is cancelled due to rain, the teams will share the points, and Nepal will advance based on a better net run rate than Hong Kong. If Hong Kong wins, Nepal will be eliminated.
After competing in the group stage, the top team from the group will play in the final round. In the final round, three teams will compete, with the top two securing a spot in the World Cup qualifiers. In the World Cup qualifiers for Asia, 10 teams will face each other. Out of these 10 teams, four will qualify for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, which will be held in England in 2026.
