NEA asks under-construction hydropower projects to submit progress report every four months

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has asked the promoter companies of the hydropower projects that are under construction to mandatorily submit the progress details of the concerned projects.

KATHMANDU, June 21: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has asked promoter companies of hydropower projects that are under construction to mandatorily submit the progress details of the concerned projects.



Issuing a public notice, the Department of Electricity Development under the NEA’s Business Development Directorate has instructed the hydropower projects that have already signed power purchase agreements and have started construction to send the progress report every four months.

The company concerned will have to submit the progress report of their project to the DoED within 7 days from the date of publication of the notice. According to the DoED, it has launched the provision to update the actual status of the projects under construction and to get information about their construction progress. DOED believes that the progress reports will help identify and resolve the problems encountered by the projects.
