NCP Coordinator Dahal continues to lead in votes in Rukum East

RUKUM EAST, March 6: Vote counting for the House of Representatives election in Rukum East is ongoing with Pushpa Kamal Dahal, coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), continuing to maintain his lead. 



According to Shiva Prasad Khanal, chief returning officer, Dahal has obtained 5,924 votes, keeping him ahead of other contenders.

Khanal told RSS that Leelamani Gautam of CPN-UML follows with 2,091 votes while Nepali Congress's Kusum Devi Thapa received 1,709 votes.


So far, the counting of 10,921 ballots from ward no 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 of Sisne rural municipality and nine other wards of Bhume rural municipality has been completed. Among them, 297 were invalid. 


Vote counting is currently underway for ward no 6 and 8 of Sisne rural municipality. Thereafter, votes of Putha Uttarganga rural municipality will be counted, said Khanal.
