A parliamentary party meeting of the NC held in Singha Durbar repeated the request to the Maoist party that has been obstructing House business over the presidential move reinstating army chief Rookmangud Katawal.
"The prolonged House obstruction has created hitches in the process of constitution-drafting and hindered discussions on appropriation bill and various other important issues of national importance," said a press statement issued after the meeting. "We, therefore, strongly urge the concerned party to end house deadlock right away."
The Maoists have said they will continue House obstruction until a resolution motion they have filed against the presidential move is made a subject of discussion in the House.
The Maoists have also announced boycott of functions attended by the president, prime minister and other ministers as part of their protest to ensure ´civilian supremacy.´
