“I urge the government to ascertain the whereabouts of those people who have gone missing, rehabilitate the displaced people, arrange medical treatment for the injured and provide compensation to the bereaved families as soon as possible,” Koirala said in a statement.
Koirala has urged the government to take necessary preventive measures in incidences of natural calamities and sought for a broader help.
“I urge all political parties, government and non-government offices, national and international organizations to join hands for rescuing and helping the flood victims,” he added. The NC president has directed party cadres, local wings and organizations affiliated to the party to promptly act for emergency assistance.
