BAGLUNG, Sept 4: Minister for Home Affairs, Ram Bahadur Thapa, distributed relief materials to the flood victims in Dhorpatan today. He also visited the flood-hit area of Dhorpatan Municipality-9. 


Minister Thapa and member of House of Representatives (HoR), Debendra Poudel, reached Dhorptan with relief materials. Thapa said that the government would help resettle the flood affected people.

"The government is always with the people in the hour of pain and suffering." The government will provide Rs 200,000 each to the families of those who lost their lives in the flood. Lawmaker Poudel committed to provide Rs 300,000 for the reconstruction of the houses destroyed by the flood. 


Poudel said that he will help repair and upgrade the Saljhandi-Dhorpatan road section damaged by the flood. 


The flood in Bhujikhola on Wednesday caused huge damage to lives and properties in Dhorpatan Municipality 7, 8 and 9. Of the missing, bodies of 14 locals have been recovered. Police Inspector at the Area Police Office, Prakash Singh Bhandari, said that search and rescue operation is underway.
