KATHMANDU, Sept 30: UCPN (Maoist) spokesperson Agni Sapkota has accused the Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML of trying to instigate President Ram Baran Yadav to grab power by dismissing Baburam Bhattarai led government.
Speaking to the media at a regular weekly meeting at his party headquarter on Sunday, he also warned that the political situation in the country would be more complex if the president sacked the government.[break]
"Congress and UML are trying to provoke the president to overthrow the government,” Sapkota said. “They just want to get hold power through the president, so they are using various power centers to achieve this."
He also said the NC and UML wanted parliamentary election which was unacceptable to his party.
Sapkota claimed that the parliamentary election would result in the loss of all the achievements of the “people´s war”, Madhes movements and the second people´s movement.
He said his party wanted CA polls and would not give up the leadership of the government without political consensus.
