Speaking at the inauguration, Pokhrel said that the government should support small and cottage industries so that they can play a vital role in export promotion. He assured that the government will bring in favorable plans in the days to come to promote small and cottage industries.
According to the organizers, the main objective of the event is to promote Nepali products and create a favorable environment for micro level entrepreneurs.
The exhibition features 250 stalls from all 75 districts with products ranging from handicrafts to industrial items like Nepali paper products, garments, Nepali carpet, bamboo products, Nepali footwear, coffee, silver products and traditional wooden products, among others.
With more than 150,000 visitors anticipated to turn up at the exhibition, the organizers expect transaction worth Rs 30million during the five day event. Like every year, this year too, excelling entrepreneurs will be awarded at the exhibition.
