Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha, an armed outfit operating in Tarai and led by Rajan Mukti, has taken the responsibility for the shooting. Altogether six rounds of bullets were fired in the incident. Earlier, the outfit had warned Tarai’s major parties, including MPRF-D, to remove their offices from across the Tarai belt.
Chief of the Janakpur Zonal Police Office, Shiv Lamichhane said, “The armed persons run away to the Indian side across the border after firing shots.”
Rajan Mukti-led Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha, an armed outfitting operating in Madhes, has claimed responsibility for the firing.
Notably, two weeks ago the armed outfits were united amidst organizing a joint program in Patna had warned of taking physical action against central leaders of major Madhes-based parties.
