Six injured in NC-MPRFN clash

MAHOTTARI, Oct 29: As many as six cadres were injured in a clash between the activists of Nepali Congress (NC) and Madhesi Peoples´ Rights Forum-Nepal (MJF-N) in course of election publicity campaign.



The scuffle ensued at Rautali village in Mahottari district constituency no. 2 last night. [break]



Six cadres were injured and five motorbikes were vandalized in the clash, said the Mahottari District Police Office.



According to the (NC) District sources, the clash occurred when the MJF-N cadres attacked NC candidate from constituency no. 2, Kiran Yadav, and her supporters in course of NC´s door to door campaign.



The unruly cadres of the MJF-N had also vandalized motorbikes being parked on the roadside, said the NC Mahottari.



Among those injured in the incident are Congress cadres including Arbinda Yadav, Jansur Rain, Sikindar Paswan, Navin Kumar Yadv, Sanjit Paswan and Ganesh Yadav, said NC candidate Yadav.



However, the MJF-N has said that the clash occurred after NC cadres evoked the election mass of MJF-N turning down their request to park the vehicles on the side. The Forum has further claimed that MJF-N´s five cadres were also injured in the clash.



A team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force had reached the incident site. The injured were taken to Janakpur Hospital, said the police.
