KASKI, March 7: Several people were injured as a clash erupted between locals and Pokhara City Police personnel after a verbal altercation when the Manav Sewa Foundation began the Bhumi Pujan Maha Yagya at Lakeside in Pokhara on Friday. The clash erupted after the municipal authorities opposed allowing the Yagya on the disputed land on Friday.
The authorities deployed police outside the Kotihom area to stop the Yagya, which started without the permission of the Pokhara Metropolitan City. The dispute that followed resulted in injuries to several people from both sides. The Manav Sewa Foundation plans to hold the Kotihom event at Barahighat.

Pokhara Metropolitan City has asserted that Kotihom cannot take place at Lakeside under any circumstances. Bijay Bhandari, the founder of the Foundation, said they remain firm in their decision to conduct the Kotihom ceremony and return from Pokhara regardless of the situation.
