Western Region (WR) earned second position with 197 points finishing ahead of Central Region (CR) that earned 169 points to settle for the third position. Eastern Region (ER) with 115 points and Far Western Region (FWR) with 92 points settled for fourth and fifth positions respectively. The top three finishers bagged purse of Rs 25,000 Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.In the final day of the three-day event, Gudiya Gupta of WR earned gold in girl's 800m sprint finishing the distance in 2 minute 39.1 second. Amisha Shrestha of CR and Manju Bisi of MWR secured silver and bronze medals. Rabi Lal Puri secured gold for Eastern Region in the boy's same event clocking 2 minute 08.8 second. Dhan Bahadur Sahu of FWR and Prabhunath Kunwar of WR finished with silver and bronze.
Pramila Chaudhary of MWR earned first position in girl's 200 m race with the timing of 28.72 second to finish ahead of Bindu Thapa of WR and Tara Malla of MWR. Boy's same event saw Sunil Chaudhary of MWR taking home gold clocking 23.91 second to complete the distance. Subash Ratgaiya of MWR and Shakti Sapkota of WR earned silver and gold.
Laxmi Shrestha of ER secured first position in the girl's triple jump leaping 9.21 m to finish ahead of Radha Chaudhary of MWR and Sundari Tharu of WR. Bhuwan Mahato of CR earned gold in boy's triple jump after he leaped 12.50 m while Subash Ratgaiya of MWR and Shyam Chaudhary of ER stood second and third.
Meanwhile, Sunil Chaudhary and Pramila Chaudhary of MWR were declared the best boy and girl player of the event. Both of them have earned equal four gold medals. Sunil topped 100 m and 200 m sprints; and 4X100 and 4X400 m relays. Similarly, Pramila secured gold medals in 100 m and 200 m sprints; and long jump and 4X400 m relay. Pramila also earned one bronze.
WR secured volleyball gold in boy's section and CR emerged champion in girl's section. The two sides had vied in the final of either of the sections. In the boy's final WR toiled hard to beat CR 25-18, 25-18, 25-27, 26-28, 15-9. The girl's final saw reverse outcome with CR defeating WR 25-15, 19-25, 25-19, 25-23.
Kamal Sunar WR was named best volleyball player in boy's section while Prathiba Mali of CR took home best girl players' award.
On Saturday, CR was crowned the champion of taekwondo, wushu and karate. However, points from these games were not included in the points for team championship.
The three day event featured 26 gold medals in athletics, two in volleyball, eight in karate and six each in karate and wushu. Altogether 370 players from five development regions had competed in the final rounds of the event in Pokhara. This is the first occasion that final round of the event is hosted outside the capital.
