KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested a section officer of Department of Foreign Employment on Monday along with bribe worth one million rupees.
A special team of the CIAA arrested Ramesh Lamichhane from a restaurant at Bijulibazaar. Lamichhane had asked bribe for providing registration certificate of the foreign employment agency, said Assistant-Spokesperson, Khagendra Prasad Rijal.
Similarly, the team also arrested a teacher Anil Poudel, who was there to hand over the bribe money to Lamichhane.
Likewise, Nayab Subba of the District Land Revenue Office, Sarlahi, Ram Naresh Raya was arrested along with Rs 1.2 million. The CIAA team had arrested Raya red handed with the bribe money that he had taken from a service recipient on Sunday, stated a press release issued on Monday by CIAA. RSS
