The pro-golfer Lama from Royal Nepal Golf Course (RNGC) carded even-par 73 in the final round on Friday and won his maiden career trophy with the total of four-over 223 in the tournament played on 54 holes. [break]
Defending champion Khadka shot one-over 74 in the final round for a total of 14-over 233.
Former No 1 Shiva Ram Shrestha stood in the third position with the total score of 235 after playing a round of two-over 75 on Friday. The first-round leader Umesh Nagarkoti, Ram Thapa and Sabin Sapkota shared the fourth spot at 240. Nagarkoti played 11-over 84 in the final round, where Thapa shot eight-over and Sapkota hit five-over.
The top three pros received Rs 80,000, Rs 51,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively, while three players tied for the fourth place earned Rs 26,333 each.
Lama -- who began the day with an advantage of five-strokes over Umesh Nagarkoti - shot two-over 39 on the front nine and two-under 34 on the back for the round of even-par 73.
Pushkar Rajbahak won the amateur section trophy with the total score of 257 after the final-round score of nine-over 82. Samundra Giri shot 11-over 84 to finish second at 259. Overnight leader Bikash Bogati shot wayward 21-over 94.
Altogether 47 golfers including 19 amateurs took part in the fourth event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2010 organized by Nepal Professional Golfer´s Association.
Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd is the main sponsor and Yeti Airlines the co-sponsor of the tournament. Brand Manager of Surya Nepal Iswar Gautam gave away prizes to the winners.
The final day of the tournament will see more than 60 players, including 15 pros, contesting in the Pro-Am event on Saturday.
