KATHMANDU, April 16: Minister for Finance Dr Swarnim Wagle has said the upcoming budget will be focused on improving the social living standards of citizens.
During a discussion with a delegation of the Economic Media Association Nepal (EMAN) on Wednesday, he said the government would address current economic challenges through the promotion of entrepreneurship, increased domestic production, and the development of a self-reliant economy.

Minister Wagle stressed the need to expand capital formation, tackle unemployment, and curb rising inflation. He said strengthening entrepreneurship and boosting domestic production would help build a self-reliant and resilient economy, adding that cooperation from the media sector is also essential.
He further said that all stakeholders must take responsibility to end corruption and ensure good governance in the country, adding that job creation remains a top government priority.
Members of the delegation, meanwhile, urged the government to adopt balanced policies for the development of all media outlets.
