According to Om Devkota, an officer entrusted with monitoring implementation of the election code of conduct, the eight candidates from various political parties contesting elections from constituency no -3, have been cautioned in writing over breach of poll conduct in the their constituency. Devkota informed that his office, taking strong exception to breach of poll conduct, has written to Koirala, Dhawal Samsher Rana of Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Jitendra Mahaseth of Sadbhavana Party, Pashupati Dayal Mishra of Tarai Madhes Democratic Party, Kuber Sonaha of Sanghiya Samajwadi Party, Sandhya Dev of Rastriya Madhes Samajwadi Party, Sattar Khan of Tarai Pahad Himal Ekta Party warning them against the breach of poll code.
The election office informed that these candidates violated poll code by pasting pamphlets in public places as well as using colorful posters. The office has ordered the parties concerned to remove the pamphlets. “We have provided them two days to remove their pamphlets and posters. They will face action if they ignore the order,” Devkota said.
Meanwhile, the District Election office has appointed poll Conduct Monitoring Officer in all the four constituencies of the district. According to the office, Govinda Pandey has been appointed as Poll Conduct Monitoring Officer in the constituency no-1 while Hari Bahadur Khatri and Om Devkota will oversee constituency 2 and 3 respectively. Similarly, Narendra Paudel will monitor implementation of poll code in constituency 4 of the district.
