Kidnapping cases on the rise in Janakpur, nine arrested

JANAKPUR, Feb 26: Police have arrested nine persons for investigation in connection with kidnapping cases in various parts of the Dhanusha district.



Police have arrested two persons involved in kidnapping eight cadres of Rajan Mukti-led Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha at about 10.00am on Thursday, leading to the safe release of all those kidnapped. Cadres of the little-known Tarai National Liberation Army had abducted them along with a vehicle from Pidari Chowk in Janakpur. [break]



Those arrested have been identified as Sukh Chain Yadav of Poudeshwor VDC-2, and Phekan Sah of Sugamadhukarahi VDC-1 in the district.



Likewise, police have safely released Rabi Chaudhary, who was kidnapped from Janakpur three days ago. Police have arrested Rabi Kumar Sharma of Janakpur Municipality -2, Raman Jha and Lalit Kumar Thakur of Madhubani district, India. Police have also arrested Hem Bahadur Yadav of Machijhhitkohiya -1 in connection with the kidnapping of Ramashankar Yadav.
