Int'l Trade Fair extended by one day

KATHMANDU, March 11: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) is extending the 2nd Nepal International Trade Fair by one day, considering the rise in number of visitors and request from participating traders. This fair will now conclude on Wednesday.



Organizing a press meet on Monday, Kalyan Krishna Tamrakar, chairman of branding and income source mobilization committee of FNCCI, said the fair has been extended for one more day as they have been receiving overwhelming response from the visitors. [break]Also the traders had been requesting us to extend the event, Tamrakar added.



Meanwhile, FNCCI organized B2B meeting among traders on Monday. In the meeting, traders from Bangladesh held discussions with Nepali traders on the possibility of appointing dealers for polymer wares, cosmetics, leather and garments produced in Bangladesh in Nepal.



According to FNCCI officials, Nepali handicrafts, newly introduced exhibition tent, live demonstration by artisans of Assam, stalls demonstrating Bangladeshi saris and garment, and Pakistani furniture are major attractions of the expo this year.



More than 150,000 people have visited the fair till Monday -- the fourth day of the event. The organizers are expecting total footfall of around 200,000 and transaction worth Rs 150 million during the expo.
