KATHMANDU, June 16: The Magar community of Nepal celebrated the Bhumya Parva/Bhumya festival at the open-air theater (Khulla Manch), located in Ratnapark on Friday.
People from the mid-western region of Nepal come together to worship Bhumya (mother earth), seeking protection for crops, livestock, and the well-being of the community from natural calamities.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal also extended his best wishes on the occasion saying this festival would promote community-based culture and inspire everyone for social harmony, mutual cooperation, agreement and exchange of experience.
