Home Minister Gurung pays homage to Pashupatinath

According to the Home Minister's Secretariat, this was his first visit to the temple since his appointment. He visited the temple on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. On the occasion, he wished for peace, stability, and prosperity in the country.

KATHMANDU, April 2: Minister for Home Affairs Sudan Gurung today visited the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the major religious shrines in the country. On the occasion, he paid homage to Lord Shiva following established rituals and also observed the overall temple premises.



According to the Home Minister's Secretariat, this was his first visit to the temple since his appointment. He visited the temple on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. On the occasion, he wished for peace, stability, and prosperity in the country.

During the visit, he inquired about the cleanliness of the temple area, the management of pilgrims, and the facilities available to them. He also instructed the concerned authorities to make necessary improvements.


Officials from the Pashupati Area Development Trust briefed the Minister on the current situation of the temple, the challenges in managing pilgrims, and the ongoing development works. 


The Minister expressed the view that the conservation and promotion of religious sites would contribute to the growth of the tourism sector.
